Adam Corrie

A native of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Adam earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. He began his career in the investment industry with TD Ameritrade Institutional in Ft Worth, TX in 2008. Ultimately, he returned to Iowa after his role at TD Ameritrade.

His career includes marketing for one of the largest RIA firms in Iowa, personal banking, executive search, as well as merger and acquisition support. After joining a RIA in Des Moines, as an Operations Specialist, in less than 5 years, Adam was charged with managing and leading the Operations for the firm, which had over $500 million in assets under management. His responsibilities on the leadership team included technology, operations, billing, employee management, and compliance.

He was early in introducing the Entrepreneurial Operating System® to the firm. Adam also organized and managed much of the operational, compliance, and technology-related aspects of the firm’s move from using the broker dealer’s RIA, to the creation of their own independent RIA. He also created and implemented a firm-wide wiki, (an online process and procedure manual), as well as migrating the wiki to the firm’s Microsoft SharePoint online workspace.

Moving on from that role, Adam began Breakout Implementation in 2019. It is Adam’s leadership roles and his breadth of industry experience, along with a deep understanding and previous experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System® that makes him an exceptional choice for a practice management and Fractional COO consultant. He brings to the role the unique prospective of a professional who understands and has worked in the trenches to solve the difficult problems that today’s advisory firm owners face on a daily basis.

At Breakout Implementation, some of the projects Adam has consulted on include:

  • Creation and management of a Valuation Calculator for assessing the value of RIAs and Advisory Practices.

  • An aggregation model and calculator for the projection of revenues, expenses, and ownership for a client interested in buying multiple Advisory Practices over 10 years.

  • Employee management initiatives includes creation of firm accountability charts, performance reviews, and meeting agendas which assist owners in the ongoing management of their business and it’s employees.

  • Marketing materials for an M&A firm including Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Publisher one-pagers, and various marketing emails.

  • Setup and training of Orion Advisor Tech, including the Billing, Reporting, and Eclipse applications for an independent RIA.

  • Various other project management initiatives around the transition to an independent RIA.
